First Prize at the 29th INTERFER Awarded to the Film Moan of the River Timok Produced by the Association Za Drinking Fountains (VIDEO)

The best achievement in the “Socially Responsible Reportage” category at the 29th International Reportage Festival – INTERFER – is the environmental documentary Moan of the River Timok, produced by the Association Za Drinking Fountains as part of the series Look Around You, funded by the EU through the project Environmental Response to Mining Expansion in Timočka Krajina.

The executive production is credited to ZA MEDIA, with Dušan Vojvodić as the editor, and the authors are Danica Canić and Suzana Stamenković. The filming team, consisting of Dragan Lazarević, Davor Pujić, and David Todorović, is led by Dejan Todorović, while Ivan Čikarić is the editor, and Ana Vojvodić serves as the narrator.

With the first prize at the 29th INTERFER, the Association Za Drinking Fountains marks its first ten years of successful work, as well as the completion of the project Environmental Response to Mining Expansion in Timočka Krajina, funded by the EU. This year, the Association was awarded the Annual Award of the City of Zaječar, the first prize at the International Festival of Environmental and Tourism Film in Vrmdža, and now the Golden Nika at INTERFER.

For 29 years, INTERFER has been gathering the best authors from the country and the region. This year, the festival received over 200 entries from Serbia, Europe, and Palestine. About thirty works in five categories made it to the final selection for awards.

The Grand Prix winner of this year’s INTERFER festival is Radio Belgrade 2 journalist Aleksandra Vukićević, for the reportage Architecture of Identity.

The Special Jury Award at INTERFER was given to Mohammed Alaloul from Palestine for the poignant TV reportage Reporter.

Other award recipients include Milan Katanić from TV Prva for TV reportage; Svetlana Mandić from the Vijesti editorial office in Montenegro for newspaper reportage; Gordana Jelić from Radio Belgrade 2 for radio reportage; and Ivica Veselinov from Sportski Žurnal for photo reportage.

Let us recall that the environmental documentary Moan of the River Timok was screened on June 10th in Novi Sad as part of the Green Week festival organized by the EU and was also published on the website of the Delegation of the European Union to Serbia.

Its television premiere took place this past summer on TV Insajder, and it is available for viewing on the YouTube channel of the Association Za Drinking Fountains and ZA MEDIA Production.
