Informing Benefits: Through the project “Environmental response to mining expansion in Timočka Krajina” the public will be more informed about environmental pollution

It is desirable, it can even be said, obligatory for the public to be informed about environmental issues, because it unites many human rights, including the most important ones, such as the right to life. This presumes the need for each individual to have access to all relevant information on the state of the environment. Timely and accurate environmental information is a guarantee for achieving the desired results in preserving and protecting the environment.

Therefore, the main goal of the project “Environmental response to mining expansion in Timočka Krajina” is to contribute to improving the environment by raising citizens’ awareness to actively participate in public policies and decision-making in the field of environmental protection and climate changes in line with the best EU practices. (More information about the EU environmental projects: https://www.euzatebe.rs )

Through media activities of the project (TV shows, articles, documentaries, festivals, plays, livestreams), there will be increased information and knowledge about environmental protection.

Timely information is a powerful tool in achieving social goals, including providing conditions for a healthier and cleaner environment. Information has the value of knowledge, and knowledge is power. By using the right to information, citizens form a critical opinion and become aware of environmental problems.
