High school students from Bor and Zaječar visited the Borska River and Rgotso Lake as part of an ecological workshop (VIDEO)

The first of five ecological workshops for young people this year was implemented as part of the project ‘Environmental Response to Mining Expansion in Timočka Krajina,’ funded by the EU and carried out by the ‘ZA Drinking Fountains’ Association and partner organizations from Bor and Zaječar. In the Children’s Center in Zaječar, the youth had the opportunity to discuss environmental topics. Later, at the Vražogrnački Bridge on the Borska River, they could witness the consequences of mining pollution and appreciate the beauty of Rgotso Lake, which is still officially a quartz sand mining site as its reclamation has not been completed.
