Documentary Environmental Series ‘Look Around You’, Produced by Association ‘ZA Drinking Fountains’, Available on EU Delegation Website in Serbia from June 5th to 12th

In celebration of June 5th – World Environment Day, the EU Delegation in Serbia will mark Green Week 2024 with a series of events and activities. Green Week EU 2024 is part of a broader communication campaign dedicated to the theme of water resilience. The goal is to stimulate dialogue across the EU about the present and future of water, with an emphasis on raising awareness and promoting positive, collective solutions.

This year’s program will feature significant participation from the Association “ZA Drinking Fountains” from Zajecar, which will showcase seven episodes of the ecological documentary TV series “Look Around You” from June 5th to June 12th on the website of the EU Delegation in Serbia, realized through the project “Environmental Response to Mining Expansion in Timočka Krajina”.

During this period, stories dedicated to the preservation of water resources and other ecological topics will also be shown at public screenings in Zajecar, Novi Sad, and Nis, organized by the EU Info Center.

In Zajecar, at the site of the Imperial Palace “Felix Romuliana”, the first screening of episodes from the series “Look Around You” will take place on Thursday, June 6th, starting at 12 pm. Two stories to be presented will address the problems of mining’s impact on the pollution of the Timok River and the issue of reclamation of an abandoned mining pit, now the location of Rgotsko Lake.

Following the screening of series episodes, discussions with the audience involving experts, authors, and delegation members are planned.

Screenings in Novi Sad will be held on June 10th in Svilara at 12 AM, and in Nis on June 13th at EU Info Point at 12 AM.
